About T.O.P.S. Motorcycle Training

T.O.P.S. Motorcycle Training: The Advanced Motorcycle Course

Courses are modeled after police motorcycle skills courses and taught by a veteran police motorcycle instructor.

Lead Instructor: David Struwing

David Struwing: Lead motorcycle training instructor David Struwing has been a police officer since 1994 and a motor officer since 2001. He is a graduate of the Northwestern University/Harley Davidson Police Motorcycle Instructor School. His understanding of advanced motorcycle riding techniques and training is backed by his work as the founding member and Lead Instructor of the Northern Illinois Motor Officers (NIMO), a dedicated group of motorcycle officers throughout the Chicagoland and Northern Illinois region. His passion for riding and teaching led to the founding of T.O.P.S. Motorcycle Training.

Assistant Instructor : Frank Horbus

Frank Horbus: Assistant Instructor Frank has been riding motorcycles recreationally for over 25 years, and is a graduate of the MSF motorcycle training course. He has been a police officer since 1996, and has been a police motor officer since 2007 after having successfully completed the Michigan State University Police Motorcycle Training. Frank subsequently earned Police Motorcycle Instructor certification from Northwestern University. During the last few years, Frank has been teaching and participating in several motorcycle skills and safety courses with both civilian and police riders. Frank is especially honored to be an assistant instructor with T.O.P.S. motorcycle training. T.O.P.S. training is an excellent and unique opportunity for civilian riders to be introduced to proven skills and techniques for safer, more enjoyable riding.

This is not a learn to ride school.  Students must have completed a basic riding course or have at least one year of riding experience.
This is an advanced riding skills course, not for beginners.
